  • PULSE POSITIONS & POSTURES - positioning of the patient and practitioner for different types of information
  • CALIBRATION of PRESSURES - direct feedback on finding the right amount of pressure in each pulse position (the MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT of pulse taking)
  • EIGHT EXTRAORDINARY VESSELS - special pulses and pattens for each of the eight extraordinary vessels
  • SINEW CHANNELS  - special pulses and pattens for each of the Sinew Channels
  • LUO VESSELS - parameters for assessing the luo mai
  • ​DIVERGENT CHANNELS- special pulses and pattens for each of the Divergent Channels
  • DYNAMIC PULSE ASSESSMENT- tracking the movement and communication of the organs and channels. Assessing the communication between zangfu.
  • ​STUDY of 35 PULSE IMAGES - we will begin to cover some of the traditional 28 pulse images as well as new, commonly found and clinically important additions
This 2-day weekend course will cover two rarely taught aspects of pulse diagnosis. Day 1 will cover diagnosis of the Eight Extraordinary Vessels, Sinew Channels, Luo Vessels and Divergent Channels.  Day 2 will cover the unique system of Dynamic Pulse Assessment.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Dr. Evan M. Rabinowitz is the founder of Yao Shan Center for Chinese Medicine in Washington, DC. where he has maintained his clinical practice for more than 23 years. He is both a clinician and a teacher. Currently, he is a professor at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts, Asheville. He is the former Director of Chinese Herbal Medicine at the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) where during his 8 year tenure he helped create the University's Masters and Doctorate programs in Oriental Medicine. Dr. Rabinowitz is a regular lecturer in Georgetown University's Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) degree program. He is a former instructor and Chinese herbal supervisor at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, Gainesville. Dr. Rabinowitz has an active private teaching schedule offering continuing education for practitioners across the Untied States and internationally. He studied extensively with Jeffrey Yuen for two decades. He is a graduate of the George Washington University (B.A.), Traditional Acupuncture Institute (M.Ac.) and Maryland University of Integrative Health(D.AC.).
